Community Guidelines
Last updated Oct 1, 2026
How we expect everyone on iamU to behave, in chats, communities, events and in person.
iamU works because members treat each other with respect. These guidelines apply everywhere on iamU: profiles, chats, calls, communities, events and the marketplace.
Be yourself
- Use your own recent photos and real age
- Do not impersonate anyone or create fake or duplicate accounts
- Keep one account per person
Be respectful
- No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation
- No hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other identity
- Take "no" for an answer. Stop contacting someone who isn't interested.
Keep it safe and legal
- Zero tolerance for any content involving minors
- No nudity or sexual content in public areas such as profiles and community posts
- No sharing private images or personal information of others without consent
- No violence, self-harm promotion, illegal drugs or weapons sales
No scams or spam
- Never ask other members for money, gift cards or financial details
- No advertising, promotions or recruiting, except through official marketplace listings
- No links to malware or phishing sites
Communities and events
- Stay on topic in each community and follow any rules set by its moderators
- Event hosts must describe events accurately and honour bookings
- Attendees should behave respectfully and follow the host's rules
Reporting
If someone breaks these guidelines, use Report on their profile, message or post. Reports are confidential and reviewed by our safety team, usually within 24 hours. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first.
Enforcement
Depending on severity, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, or suspend or permanently ban an account. Serious cases may be referred to law enforcement.
